Is Paris too romantic a place for a single 29 yr old girl to visit alone?

It depends what you are looking for and where in Paris you are looking.
As a dedicated singleton way beyond a certain age, I couldn't care two hoots for the traditional "romantic Paris" perception, which can all too often signal a rip-off for the unwary and loved-up. Like any world city, it can be intriguing, enlightening, exasperating and in some places disappointing and squalid.
Who knows, if you just set out to enjoy yourself, doing the things that interest you, you may find romance along the way with a kindred spirit. Or you might not (clue: if he offers you a gold ring and says he thinks it's yours, he is not making a romantic gesture). But if you do the things that interest you because they interest you, and not because that's what everyone says is the "romantic" thing to do, you'll have fun anyway.

Paris is a wonderful city, solo or otherwise. It is romantic but it's also historic, significant, stylish, charming, gorgeous. It's an art and food lovers dream.
Don't wait for another to make you complete. You will never regret travel! It's the best education you can get and it truly enriches your life.
Don't wait...get on a plane and go. Enjoy the pain au chocolat and macarons and end every night with a glass of champagne!

Hey guys, thanks again to all of you for encouraging me to go to Paris right now! I am quite excited.
I was thinking of taking an overnight ALSA / Euroline bus from Barcelona to Paris, then spend 3 Days & 2 Nights in Paris and then return by last flight at night to Barcelona. Next day, I'd catch my flight back home.
Is there any other better option to get to Paris...any other bus / train?

My favorite city and I've been alone several times - and will again. At age 23, I was in Paris alone. Met one of the Revson boys (his card said Patron des Beaux Arts). The hotel concierge fell all over him - and then me too. At age 37 hassled by two hot guys who just happened to get into my camera shot - maybe they were plotting revolution? Waiters flirt with me regularly but you gotta be alert to it. The hawkers in the flea market flirt OUTRAGEOUSLY! Some men try to act real cool so smile, and reach over like you just might touch a hand. Yeah - it's great for singles. Go! Have fun! Make those memories!

Is there any way to change your return flight home directly from Paris? That would give you so much more time.
And BYW, I'm seeing some non-stop one-ways from BCN to Paris that last week in August that cost around $150.
Good luck.

Shanna, I am convinced to go Looking forward to it.
AlessandraZoe & thursdaysd, I was planning to take the train, but now the train fares have become expensive & I am getting not-so-expensive flights on Air France, which I suppose is a full service carrier, so I should not have any trouble with my baggage!
I tried hard to re-route my homebound flight, but it is not permitted in my particular booking
