Is Paris Museum Pass worth it?

Hi,

We are considering a Paris Museum pass for 2 days just for the advantage of line jumping.
We plan on visiting the Louvre in 2 half day stints, Musee Rodin and the Museum of Modern Art. Not a whole lot of museums so the cost of individual tickets would be cheaper. Are the lineups really that bad? I heard that the Louvre only lets in people to maximum capacity so would the pass help the line up at all?

In your case, the pass might not be worthwhile. It often depends on when you will be visiting whether there will be lineups or not, but you're probably OK for these 3 museums.

Note that the Louvre admission is good for the entire day, so you could go early, take a break, and return later in the day for free.

If you plan to go to L'Orangerie, just might be worth it not to stand in loooong line. Have you checked schedule to see if Pompidou (Museum of Modern Art) has any exhibitions when you'll be there? Also, if you intend to see D'Orsay, again chance of long lines.

I think it depends on how many you want to see and when you are going. I was in Paris last November, with a friend, and we knew we wanted to see three museums for sure. We went to the Louvre the first day..kind of a whim because we were just walking, saw the Pyramid, they had just opened, the courtyard was deserted, so we thought "well, we're here, so no time like the present". We went to the d'Orsay a couple of days later and waited about 15 or 20 minutes and probably the same at the Orangerie. So, we didn't have the crowds to deal with OR the heat of summer. I can't stand heat, so for me, if it was summer, I'd get the pass just so I wouldn't have to stand in line, plus I wouldn't want to waist two hours of my vacation waiting to get in someplace. So, you just have to decide what it's worth to you.

I bought it because we were going to several of the sites the ARC, Napolean's tomb, Louvre, orsay. It was well worth it at Louvre and the orsay because we were there the last week in June and the line for the orsay was 2 hours to get in because of the security checks. We walked around the back and there was no line what so ever. The louvre was the same way just about 45 min wait. So it was well worth it not standing in the sun at the orsay.
