Is Momma Mia suitable for young teens?

My family is traveling to London this summer and would like to see 'Momma Mia' if it's suitable for our young teens (12 and 14 yr).
Also, where in the theater is considered the best seating for this show? Thanks for the help.

Hi,

We took our children 8 and 12 to see Mamma Mia last summer. The 8 year old didn't get the pg-13 type of references but the 12 year old did. If you let your kids go to pg-13 movies then you will be fine with this. It was wonderful and my 12 year old daughter loved the show. (The 8 year old boy enjoyed it too.)

Hi Kitty,
Thank you for the info. I appreciate it. Where did you sit in the theater and did you like it? Any suggestions?

I loved the show Mama Mia. I was lucky to get tickets the day of show by standing in line at the box office that morning for either returned tickets or tickets that had been held released by the producer. It seems that there will be a certain number held each day for the producers to hold for VIPs or friends. Many times, they are just released and sold at the box office in the a.m. We sat in the 5th row, center. However, I would think any seat you can get would be fine. The theatre is not that huge. It was such a fun show!

Very good choice! I hear the London company is even better than the touring U.S. one. You might have to explain a bit about ABBA to them though---it's the retro music that really makes the show!

While we don't have kids we've seen Momma Mia twice already in London & will again next month and we've seen plenty of families in the audience. I don't think your kids will have a problem with it - to be very honest I find many of the prime time t.v. shows much more filled with sex then I've seen on the stage. We got our tickets via Ticketmaster UK - had seats in the second row both times and again for next month. We're also seeing My Fair Lady which the kids may like. We have tickets for several others too, but I think you are OK with these. They might enjoy Phantom & Les Mis if you have not seen them too.
