I think you would drop the zero before the country code. If you can use a fax machine with a transmission report, you will see if it's been sent. If it doesn't work, then put the zero back in. Sometimes it can be trial and error, like using ATM machines overseas where things work differently.

Perhaps start a new thread just asking 'how do I say in Italian....' and someone who speaks the language will help.
