Is Imerovigli too far from Fira

Hello- I was planning to stay in Santorini and was recommended the Astra Apartments, but I was worried that Imperovigli was too far from Fira. Can Anyone please give me some inside advice?

You can walk from Imerovigli to Fira in under 30 minutes -- it's downhill. Probably over 30 minutes back to Imerovigli as it's uphill, but not too bad. I recommend staying in Firostephani -- half way between the two.

We stayed in Imerovigli and found it perfect. But we had a car ... If you don't have one, stay either in Oia or Firostefani as Diane suggests. Independently on where you're staying, consider getting a room WITHOUT breakfast (you'd have to pay extra if you're staying in an appartment anyways). Going to the grocery store, shopping for stuff and doing your own is fun and instructive
Paulo

Imerovigli is not at all far from Fira, and actually I prefer staying there to overcrowded noisy Fira. I also recommend hiring a mopad to a car as parking space in Fira is very rare, and mopads are cheap and easy to operate.
Have a nice trip.

I stayed near Akrotiri last year, MUCH farther away from Fira than Imerovigli, and had no trouble getting around on the bus system. Every night we'd take the bus to Fira or Oia, then take a taxi home at night -- it was cheaper than renting a car, and lots more fun. I'll be staying in Oia this year, and hope to take some hikes along the cliff to Imerovigli and Fira.

Teresa
