I don't know why, but I have virtually never seen any references to rail travel in Ireland here on this forum, and I have read tens of thousands of posts here.

So, I looked it up - - on http://www.irishrail.ie/your_ticket/fares_enquiries.asp - - and they list 22 to 32.50 euro for an adult single, and 22.50 euro for a student return (roundtrip) fare.

I can't recall ever seeing references to this website here befpore ever -- but it was readily located from the Europe rail "mega-site - - http://mercurio.iet.unipi.it/misc/timetabl.html

Best wishes,

Rex
[email protected]
Rex -I am so grateful to you, and not for the first time I seem to remember.
I searched on Irish Railways last night before posting but could only come up with fares for season tickets.
Your reply just shows the value of this board. I live two hours from Ireland(by road and boat) and yet I get more useful information from Ohio than I can find in Wales!
Thanks again
