Ireland Road Trip

Hi All,

My wife and I are flying into Ireland's Shannon Airport on May 3rd at 10am and flying out May 13th.
We rented a car for the entire trip and we're planning on staying at hotels / B&B's. We have been to Ireland before and did a bunch of towns south of the M6 highway. We are looking to go back and do the northern section and would like to spend the days exploring, hiking, eating, and enjoying a few pints along the way. We prefer smaller towns with local bars and restaurants.

Any advice would be great!

You can take the train to Westport from Dublin. I love all the things you could do there. Clare Island was amazing. Connemara is perfect for touring.

Donegal is a lovely are to explore. A few years ago we used Ardara as a base and it worked well for us. Check out Nancy’s, a cozy pub, for food and pints.
