Ireland for a week- any advice?

I'm going to Ireland for a week- flying into Sannon- any suggested itinerary? Must sees? We'll be going during Easter, so I see many things will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday also. Also, this is still the off season. Any suggestions as to wich towns are more likely to have things gooing on and open pubs during this time? suggestions greatly appreciated. Also, looking into doing some horseback riding (for novices).

The winds at the cliffs of Moher can be so strong that you will need a bungee cord for your safety. Someone in my group lost their camera in the winds while we were there.

Dingel is a very nice town with some hiking if you want outdoor fun. Galway is also nice - a bigger city w/a few more things to do and see and you can still take day trips to the country side for outdoor activities.

Since the time of year you picked might be a bit chilly or drizzly, if you tour Connemara and get a bit cold, stop in at Ballynahinch Castle for an Irish coffee. My trip was in September and I loved it -- have fun.

Susan:
We will be there over St Paddy's day and I just finished making our reservations. Are you staying in B&B's? Are you staying on the voucher system and are you going into Dublin? if using vouchers, make you reservations now as very few accept vouchers in Dublin. If staying in B&B's call Irish Tours and adk them to rush a book to you1-800-223-6470. I do recommend splurging for a night and staying at Dromoland Castle in Limerick. Some things recommended on this site that we will do is: Doolin and the Clifs of Moher. The Burren and Ailwee Caves. Dinner at Bunratty Castle (Limerick) telephone #001353361360788 as you need reservations. Drive the Dingle Peninsula -Conner Pass-Slea Head Drive. Blarney Castle and Kinsale with shopping at Blarney Woolen Mills. Rock of Cashel in Tipperary. Book of Kells in Dublin Trinity College. There's so much to do we wish we had a lot more time. If I can be of help, please email. Have fun!

Gayle - did you walk into the bar through the men's room also? We parked near this door and there was a sign above it that said 'bar' in neon so we (8 of us) entered this way. About a 1/2 hr. later one of the tables was having a giggle and we then figured out what had happened. We laughed so hard we got the whole bar going and even took a couple of picutes re-creating our entrance. I do remember thinking it was a little strange to have a urinal in the entrance to a bar, but then again what do I know about the customs in Ireland?! I guess it's meant for the reverse - a quick pee on the way out of the bar.

Susan - I'm a broken record on this subject. Go to the Aran Islands. So fabulous and there are fairies there. For novice riding try Ashford Castle. Very calm and regimented. You can ride to your own limits. If you know a little something go to Aille Cross. Really there are alot of choices for riding, but these are 2 personally I know
