We are looking to get some Ipad apps that would help us in our trip to germany. It could be general trip apps (planners, or else) Germany specifics apps or german city apps (We will travel to Berlin, Dresden, Nuremberg, Salzburg, Munich and Rhine valley).

I always find the city's transport app (bus or Sbahn or trams) to be invaluable. You can probably find each city's app at the city's main tourist website.

Yes, google maps is also good.

I also like to download the Deutsch Bahn's app, where I can store all my tickets and look up schedules for my upcoming trips.

You probably don't need each city's transport app unless you want to use it to buy tickets. Google Maps should have their schedules, so when you want to go somewhere, Google will tell you which bus or train to take and how to walk to/from the stops. This is how I navigated a bunch of European cities on my recent trip to Europe. I did have data on my Android phone, though. I had installed a few cities' transport apps but never even opened them.

Protip: Salzburg is in Austria

Google lets you use maps online. Download them before you leave.

This is way better done by the DB app. I found google often inexact or incomplete with respect to local transport in Gernany.

Maybe, but I'd be surprised. I didn't use Google Maps in Germany.

I did use it recently in Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Helsinki, St. Petersburg, and Amsterdam to navigate by tram and bus in each city. Google had everything. It even knew that on June 1, the #1 and #2 trams I had been riding in Tallinn for days had stopped running (still not sure why) and had been replaced by buses. I never found an incomplete result.
