International inflight meal(s) and drink(s)...
I had lunch with a colleague today who told me they opened a bottle of French red on their last international flight along with cheese and crackers and shared with other passengers.

Can this be true? I never thought of doing it before, but it does sound tempting, as I'm leaving next week and not looking forward to another rubber plate!!

The food will not raise an eyebrow, I have done it and seen it done many times.

The wine will depend on which airline and to some extent, the mood of the cabin staff. They will likely remind you of the rules that no personal alcholic beverages are allowed to be opened during the flight, but also just as likely to wink and look the other way while they are reminding you of the rule.

US carriers will likely fuss more than the international ones, Air France and Lufthanza cabin staff will likely join in.

Worst case is that you have to cork the bottle and drink their wine. .

Rich
