I loved the Hotel Oberland in Interlaken. Huge rooms, two sinks in the bathroom, lovely views and the most comfortable bed of our entire trip!

Thanks Ness, I am probably going to book either Hotel Splendid or Hotel Blume, anyone stayed here before?

Hi Marie,

We stayed at Hotel Blume last year. The location was great, right in the center of town. There was a supermarket just around the corner where we bought fruit and wine, etc., and it stayed open late, so that was great.

When we arrived we were given a room on the 2nd floor (I think) that we weren't at all happy with. It was very small with a tiny bathroom, if you could call it that, as it was just a toilet and shower and the wash basin was in the bedroom. Also the room was not very clean.

We complained and they said they would move us to a better room the next day, they did and it was much better. The bathroom was good with big windows and the basin was in the bathroom and it was clean.

The room although small was fine and the bonus was that we had a tiny balcony.

Breakfast was very basic, nice fresh bread, one cereal, yogurt, jam, fruit. Very good hot chocolate and coffee wasn't bad either. This was served in the Mexican restaurant downstairs.

For the price it wasn't really a bad deal but to be honest next time I would look for a place that looks cleaner. Others may think it is fine(it wasn't that bad), but I am very fussy and have a thing about dirt and I think a budget hotel can still be a clean hotel.

Hope this helps.
