Insurance question
Hi,
I am not sure where to ask this question, but maybe someone on this forum knows the answer.
I signed up for a cruise in Europe and bought travel insurance. The cost is considerable as the cruise is expensive and I am close to 80. If I had to cancel the trip (for covered reasons), the travel insurance should pay (hopefully) for the cruise cost, but the cost of the travel insurance would not be included. Is there a way to buy insurance to cover the cost of the travel insurance? Thanks.

This more than likely would be a sunk cost. Your insurance provided coverage, hence your premiums were utilized to provide that coverage. Therefore.... there is nothing to refund.
But read the policy. Each policy is different.

Thanks for your quick replies. I am not sure that I explained properly what I am looking for (which probably doesn't exist): insurance for the premium I paid for the travel insurance. There are so many things one doesn't know about, so I asked. Maybe I should ask ChatGPT ....

Don't ask Chat GPT, ask Google. Or ask what post #2 suggested and actual travel insurance resellers. Chat GPT is none of those.
I do not think what you are looking for exists. "Insurance for my insurance." WTH? Then you'd want a refund for the other one you don't use....vicious circle.
TBH, let this one go....

You can get insurance on anything. The question becomes does it make sense?
So you pay somebody to write you insurance on your insurance. Do you now pay somebody else to write you insurance on the insurance on the insurance?
Google unusual insurance policies

Why spend even more money on an insurance policy on an insurance policy, even if such a thing exists?
You buy insurance to cover costs you cannot, or do not want to, meet out of pocket. You premium goes into a big pot which covers everyone with insurance. Same as health insurance, car insurance, home insurance. You do not get your premium back, it is used to pay out claims, at a most basic level of explantation.
I hope your travel insurance also covers health emergencies whilst travelling.

Actually, we all understood you. You just didn't get the answer you were looking for.
Btw: I work in insurance. It is not travel insurance but it is the industry. So...what do I know?!
