I agree with Steve - easy normally to book a day or so ahead of time for these Allegro trains that run between Germany, austria and Italy - www.bahn.de for the easiest schedule site i've seen. If you want to book ahead and have tickets, which some folks always and i understand that in the U.S. i always recommend BETS 800-441-2387 for their expertise and lack of raileurope's hefty mailing fees. But again you should normally have no problem booking there.

Thanks so much for quick and helpful info. Also, do you recommend getting a hotel package that includes the Innsbruck Card? It is about 6 euros more than booking without it. Any knowledge of the Hotel Heimgartl or Hotel Garni Royel?
