Can anyone recommend an inexpensive hotel in Paris. I will be travelling to Paris on mid-April. Thanks

Bfandon: You will find a lot of suggestions in this forum (go to the Paris messages). But, you are kind of late for mid-April and that's the Easter weekend...
You might find at
www.paris-touristoffice.com
You can search by area, price, etc. But good budget hotels are usually quite small places might be booked already. Just read posts in this forum.
Bonne chance!

Brandon
In addition to suggestions here, and elsewhere on this Fodor's website
(check out Paris and the hotel section and rants and raves), you can also search
www.france-hotel-guide.com
has a list of budget hotels

All of the following also have comments from past hotel guests:
www.hotelboulevard.com
www.paris.org/
www.france.com
Not sure if they'll fit your budget, but the following are only some of the hotels that have been praised on this forum and elsewhere
Grand Hotel Leveque,Degres de Notre Dame, Port-Royal,Champs-de-Mars,
Saint-Dominique, l'Esperance,
Muguet, Familia, GRandes-Ecoles,Quai Voltaire, St-Jacques, Palais Bourbon
etc

The most recent National Geographic Traveler magazine has a great article on inexpensive hotels in Paris. They mention several that are often on this forum; Champs du Mars, Familia, Muguet, Grandes Ecoles plus some less familiar ones. Several friends have stayed at the St. Jacques and found it to be a good choice.

I was in Paris last year and stayed at the Hotel du Lys, 23 rue Serpente, 6th arrondissement (St. Germaine), Tel: 011-33-014-326-9757. I believe it was under 600francs (includes breakfast) and the location is incredible. If you have a Paris street/metro map look for the St. Michel stop. The hotel is just around the corner and is close to many, many restaurants. It's a stone's throw from the Seine and Notre Dame. The hotel itself is very clean; the room we stayed in (#11) was spacious (for a European hotel) and had a nice size bathroom. I noticed the Familia hotel has also been recommend by others. We were also looking at that hotel and one night we walked by it - well, the location is nowhere as good and I'm glad we chose Hotel du Lys instead. Good luck!

If you're willing to go without a private bathroom, or even get by w/o an elevator, you can get by quite economically. I'll be there a few weeks before you @ 238 ff per night, a one star hotel.
I couldn't really help about this question, but I think you should explain what you mean by "inexpensive". This word has *very* different meanings for different people. Is inexpensive 200FF/night? 400FF? 800FF?
