I am looking for an inexpensive but centrally located hotel in Madrid for July. Any Reccomendations?

Hi Liz

Personal recommendation:

Hotel Europa - terrific location. Web site: www.hoteleuropa.net or email them at [email protected].

They will respond really quickly. Room per night is 9000 pesetas with breakfast (optional) an extra 600. You have to add to this an extra 7 1/2 percent tax.

Have fun.

Beryl gave you good advice. We stayed at the Europa year before last and it was great. Inexpensive, located near Puerta de Sol (the center of Spain so they say), immaculately clean and very pleasant helpful hotel personnel. We enjoyed sitting at the outdoor tables at the restaurant next to the hotel and sometimes had breakfast and dinner there. Go for it, you won't be sorry.

Suites Prado is a nice hotel near Prado and Pl. St. Ana, in the center of the best tapas bars. Nice, clean and moderately priced.

The hotel Mora is also very nice. Clean, inexpensive and right across the street from the Prodo Museum.
