In Paris Now - need restaurant recommedations for the 3rd and 4th!
Hello all - we are in Paris right this moment! Forgive the post if it isn't worded properly, I just drank my own bottle of wine! We had fabulous meals 2 nights in row based on fodors recommendations, and would like to hear more. Any recommendations for the 3rd and 4th arrondismonts?

The first was La Taverne Du Sergent Recruiter at 41 Rue St-Louis-en-l'Isle. Second was Restaurant Robert et Louise at 68 Rue Vielle-du-temple. Excellent meals, had a great time both nights.
I know I spelled recommendations incorrectly in my title.... but is anyone going to reply???

Bistrot L'Oulette ,38 rue des Tournelles .Dinner Monday to Friday. Near Place des Vosges. Excellent fixed price 2 or 3 course .Lovely wine list , excellent Maitre d'/ Sommelier .Vintage Armagnacs and good solid classic .It has its sister Restaurant that is rather better in Bercy .Ate at the Bistrot twice in June and highly recommend it. Need to book if later in the week .Open for lunch as well .

JohnFitz, we will have to put Bistrot L'Oulette on our list of place to try when we get back to Paris. My DH is a fan of Vintage Armagnacs. If you like them you can go to Livinia and drool over the wall that goes from 1900 to 2006 with almost every year represented. The other place to get great Armagnac is at the restaurant Hélène Darroze since her family has been producing Armagnac for years.

Thanks for those tips. Next trip . I enjoyed an '85 and '88 at 2 dinners and they gave me a second with comps !! . The staff and chef were charming in all respects .The test was a couple who were rude and offensive and also from Australia where we are from . They arrived announcing that this was their 30th dinner out and were sick of being ripped off and did not want to pay a lot ( 25 or 33 euro for 2/3 courses so not expensive and on the board out front ) .They reduce the cost .We squirmed listening to this . The bill comes and the man queries it .More squirming by us . The chef, who can see from the servery ,comes out after asking the maitre what is happening and soothes .They settle , pay and leave . We felt compelled to apologise about our rude compatriots . No need .His response was politesse itself "... Oh the French can also be challenging guests ...enjoyed your meal ..? " and topped up my glass . The result was another dinner with friends as guests a few days later .Gracious to a fault. It confirmed yet again to me that it is a myth that Parisians are rude .
