In Paris now, need advice

Hi,

I am in Paris now staying in an apartment in the Place de Nation and would love to know if anyone knows of a great place to have dinner that is not too far away. We have been making dinner a lot but want to go out but not a brasserie.

Thanks,
Laura from San Diego.

P.S. I am on my honeymoon.

Don't know the area, so can't make restaurant recommendations, but a suggestion would be to Google Place de Nation Paris. Then click "Maps" at the top of the page and a map of the Place will come up. In the square with the arrow, click on "Search in the area", and enter "restaurants" for the category.

When I did this, I got a whole bunch of hits.

Have a great honeymoon!

Chowhound:
"...Biche au Bois is definitely a favorite. (Game in season, venison and wild boar).... Bistro du Peintre is a personal favorite, near the rue Keller. It's a cafe, with some great food, with a changing menu, in an art nouveau space--it's just really good (but not at level of a true bistro)...."

Bistro Paul Bert, 13, Rue Paul Bert; wallking distance of Palce de Nation. This is a classic PArisian bistro with excellent food! Very popular so you must book.

The other standby in the 11th is Astier at Rue JP Timbaud; classic bistro.

We loved Astier in 1998 (it was our neighborhood haunt). It has been purchased of late and on the rebound. The metro is "Parmentier". You might also check out Le Chateaubriand(set menu) and L'homme Bleu in that same neighborhood. L'homme Bleu is fabulous Berber(Moroccan) food. We are headed back to Paris for the third time and have reservations at L'homme Bleu.
