In Paris for New Years!! Need advice..
Happy Holidays Everyone!!
As a surprise I'm taking my girlfriend to Paris for New Years.... any suggestions as to places we can celebrate New Year's Eve as well as any sites we have to for sure see? I've been to Paris before but still would love any ideas? I know it's a bit late possibly for good restaurants but thoughts would still be appreciated! We are in Paris from Dec. 30th to Jan 2nd... thank you!

You will find great food. Try L'Orangerie on Ile St Louis...chic and romantic at the same time.
Check out Un Dimanche a Paris for great macarons and the most beautiful pastries. They also have a restaurant where all the dishes have a bit of chocolate in them in some way. It is a beautiful, modern place. Very cool. In the 6th.
I think Le Comptoir de Relais will be in a no reservations, continual service mode...great food there (in the 6th).
In the 7th, Reed restaurant on rue Amelie is charming! Best risotto I have ever had. Catherinw Reed is the chef/owner and she is wonderful!
We were just there and finally got around to climbing the towers at Notre Dame after many trips. Get there early (it opens at 10am). It was a favorite for us...fantastic view of Paris from the top and all the gargoyles were fun.
We also loved Sainte Chapelle. Very beautiful! Also, go early to avoid standing in line for too long. As far as museums, D'Orsay is my favorite. The huge Monet canvases in the L'Orangerie (museum this time, not restaurant) are spectacular to see.
If it is snowing, last year over Christmas we enjoyed our Berthillon ice cream in the park behind Notre Dame. Magical.
Have a great trip. I have no ideas for a last minute spot to spend NYE in. Maybe your hotel can assist.

Here is a site that lists tons of NYE options, the sound kind of exhausting but fun:
http://www.ely1212.com/Reveillon/ile_de_france_fr.html
It is in French, but here's a good article from Time Out too:
