There are so many places I have not been that such a list would go on forever. However, some would be:

GREECE, especially Thessaloniki (or Salonika as we Sephardic Jews call it) where my great-grandparents are from
Israel
Egypt
Turkey
Morocco
Italy
Norway
Iceland
Germany
Greenland (don't ask me why - my husband thinks I'm thoroughly nuts)

Now well into my eighth decade, I look at these lists and am amazed that my wife and I have seen almost all of them. And yet, one big one remains because tour companies skimp on the time we can spend there, giving only a few hours at most. I am talking about The Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. Like the Louvre, it is -- so I am told -- a place to savor, to wander, to return to. Instead, it's "we have two hours here, and then we must be moving on." And I simply won't pay good money to be stampeded or herded that way.

We have been everywhere, (almost, Saudi,Yemen, Africa, Asia, China and Thailand,Japan, all parts of Europe except Prague, Canada, etc. Now we are thinking of seeing a bit of home...like Banff, the Rockies (again!), Maine, the Maritimes, the interior of Oregon, Washington, etc. The one foreign place I still want to see is South America.

Don't know if I can put these in order without a lot of thought, but I think Australia would be #1. Variety and lots of natural beauty. I would prefer 3-4 weeks though.

The others:
New Guinea
Tahiti - my wife would absolutely love it
Galapagos
Peru
Nepal/Tibet
Mongolia - I would not touch a marmot (well, probably not)
Tikal, Guatemala and surrounding ruins
New Zealand
Italy (yes, you know I really want to go, but Europe is not as hard to afford as others)
Egypt
Kenya or South Africa
India
Thailand
Costa Rica
