Ok 4 questions: two couples in their 70's traveling together.
We are taking a 6 day tour, but have 1 1/2 days free.
1. Have read better, less crowded, and cheaper places other than the Blue Lagoon. (too touristy?)What alternate hot springs would you recommend to the blue lagoon geothermal? Can we go by uber, as we will be staying at the Natura hotel.
2. On our last day (plane leaves at 8:30 PM---Would you recommend the Hop on Hop off trolley to taking an uber to see the old harbor area./- wondering about guided information on the Hop on? did any one take this mode?
3 any resaurants you would recommend in the Old Harbor area?.
4. Has anyone used walking sticks to walk up to the waterfallS, and geiser (uneven terrain)??

I don't remember if I had my walking poles with me on the trip, but they would be helpful in some places. I am thinking of the trail at Dettifoss (steps, walkways, gravel, wet); the gravel around various glacial lagoons.
Gullfoss is still gravelly and sloped, but easier.
I didn't go to geysers.

Thanks Happy trvlr
I too, am getting ready to cancel with intent to rebook, my 6 day Iceland tour with Gate 1 in June -- but the Icelandair is only waiving the change fee, BUT NOT the cancellation/accessment fee of $300 each? if theycancel my flight, THEN I get a credit.
Any feed back from your cancellation??
