Ibis CDG Hotel Information Please

After many tries at priceline and not getting any hotels for the dates we need I finally found this hotel at a reasonable price. We just need the room for the night in order to be at the airport for our flight out in the morning.

What I am needing is information regarding returning our rental car. We will be arriving from Dijon Saturday evening to drop off the car at the airport.

We are renting from Auto Europe (National is the company). Does anyone know how far we will be from the hotel when we drop off the car and will we be able to get transportation from there to the Hotel.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks so much.

There are 3 Ibis at CDG. We have stayed at all 3. Which one are you considering?

If we don't have too much luggage, we prefer to check into the hotel with the luggage, then return the car the night before and take the Ibis shuttle in the morning. However, this summer we waited to return the car early in the morning and were glad we had. There was a very long line waiting for the Ibis shuttle and they definitely weren't going to all fit on the next shuttle.

I don't believe the outside car return area is manned until 7 am (at least that was our case) and we had to drop the keys off at the inside counter. It was very easy, however.

Thanks Klondike, the hotel is listed as Ibis/terminal closer to terminall 3. We are flying out of terminal 2 with Air Canada. Our flight isn't until 11:40 so if we get up early should be okay.

Are there good directions to find the car rental returns and how did you get to your hotel after dropping off the car?

Hi Carley

Is this your hotel?
http://www.accorhotels.com/accorhote...he_hotel.shtml

If yes, your best bet is to return the car at CDG terminal 1. Follow the signs to the terminal, a large round building, and then follow the car rental return signs ("retour voitures de location" or something like that, which should lead you round and round the building until the upper levels where the parking garage is located.

Once you have returned your car, proceed to a lower level to catch the CDGVAL shuttle train for 2 stops to Terminal 3 / Roissypôle. Your hotel is located right by that station.

The next morning, just hop on the CDGVAL onwards to the terminal 2 stop, from where it's about a 10 min. walk via terminal 2C to terminal 2A, from which Air Canada departs.

Hope this helps,
Andre

Carley, you're very welcome!

One more tip: all Star Alliance carriers are supposed to eventually transfer to CDG terminal 1, once the current renovation program there is completed. So if you are travelling a few months from now, I would reconfirm what terminal Air Canada is using a few days before departure here:

Bon voyage

If I remember, the car rental exit from the main road as you go around at CDG will be on your left-go slowly as there's a concrete barrier that would be easy to bump into if you were distracted looking up at the roadsigns (luckily not all 4 of us were looking at the signs and were able to avert disaster. That would have been a real bummer after 5,000k to have an accident 5 mins before the end of the trip!)

Hint for the main terminal IBIS:

1) If you are not tired, it is just a short way to the RER and a night in Paris. We took a cab back for convenience, but make sure your driver understand WHICH Ibis you want--we've had problems with this twice now.

2) If you are tired, but appreciate good food... don't eat at the IBIS restaurant (just so-so at best). Make a dinner reservation at the Hilton. It is a 5 minute walk and has an excellent dinner buffet. It is also a much nicer ambiance for a cocktail.
