I think I might have seen Ira!

Here I was, walking by the Hotel Bonaparte in Paris, when a nattily dressed, very distinguished looking man came striding out.

He was wearing black and white spectator shoes, blue trousers, a yellow shirt and a red tie, a red and white striped jacket with a yellow display hankerchief and a pork pie hat.

I thought to myself, “Could this be the great man?”

I didn’t ask, so I’ll never know.

There is a trip report from Ira somewhere on Fodors from his sojourn with Coco in Dijon last year. There are accompanying photos, so if you can find it you may be able to verify if the gentleman you saw was indeed Ira.

Cool!

I might have said something to that gentleman, but I've always been intimidated by celebrities.

Hi Ron,

Boy, have you got the wrong number.

But. thank you, just the same.

Go to Coco's link.

I am the handsome guy in the red sweater.

Note, that I am not wearing anything that would "scream tourist".

>I might have said something to that gentleman, but I've always been intimidated by celebrities<

Never be intimidated by someone "wearing black and white spectator shoes, blue trousers, a yellow shirt and a red tie, a red and white striped jacket with a yellow display hankerchief and a pork pie hat", he is merely a circus clown.

Ira, it is so nice to finally put a face to the man with such a keen sense of calmness.

I think you saw a clown, not Ira.
