I will be in Solvenia for a bit, but the way my schedule is right now I will only be able to get to Croatia for two days. I really want to go, even though I know it is so short. I still need to do more research on Croatia as I still know very little but would love some advice about how far I should try to go in two days. I will Not be renting a car, so public transportaion only. If anybody has any suggestions about where to go, what cities to visit, or how long it takes to get around Please let me know. Thanks!

With only two days and without a car, I am afraid there aren't many choices.
If you are in Ljubljana, you might like to take train (2 1/2 hours) to Zagreb- an interesting old twon centre and some museums, then bus to Plitvicka Lakes(one of the prettiest parks I have ever visited), stay over night and return, but it will be a very rush trip.
Or you could take train(1 1/2 hours) to Rijeka, then over night ferry to Split-World Heritage sit for one shiort visit.

no way would you be able to get a cheap flight to dubrovnik?
thats what id recommend
the one city that is really a must-see in croatia
and two days would do it
check the net
we got two airfares from split to zagreb for under 100 dollars
so it may be the same from somewhere in slovenia

Spend your time in Istria, visit Opatia, Rovinj and Pula. They are very special places and you can enjoy 2 days.
When you have time, then take the time to take the ferry down the coast from Rijeka, to Split (Trogir is the place to stay), Korcula and Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic.

I'll echo Judy. Plitvice was as beautiful as any national park I have ever seen. If you get the chance, go.
Istria would be a close second. We loved Rovinj.
Not a bad choice to have to make in life.
