hey,
i can tell you about south germany. someone else can help you regarding north germany.
in south germany you must go to frieberg. thats a great place to visit and the places nearby are also great. moreover if you want you can also go to switzerland for a few days but that will cost a little more coz hotels in there are bit more expensive.
hope this is of some help for you.
paul

hi there,
if I get You right, You wont come down to the very south of Germany. Did You got a border which place will be Youre very south? Maybe Frankfurt/Main. So Darmstadt is a very nice town to go with beautiful Art Deco architecture. A charming place too is the river Saar and the cities of Saarbruecken and Trier. Shure You should not miss Heidelberg - I dont love too much for its touristic outfit, but it is still worth if Youre in the near. And When going more south try to catch a river cruise from Heidelberg down the river Neckar. Besigheim, Ludwigsburg, Stuttgart, Esslingen and Tuebingen are on Your way. You will shurly like. For more details just ask.
Have fun
Gar
