Help! I've looked all over the place and cannot find a picture book/coffee table type book on Barcelona. I need one that gives a little bit of history and has beautiful photos. The book would be used to launch an incentive trip for the sales force at my company. So, I'll need several copies.

P.s. I don't need travel guides. They're easy to find.

Hi, I've started using a series of guide books called "Style City: xxx" (for example "Style City: London," "Style City: Paris&quot. There's one for Barcelona. This is a travel guide book, but not quite in the usual sense. If you're able to get a copy, look through it. The pictures are wonderful. This may or may not fit your bill, but I think you'd have fun looking through them. I'm tempted to buy the one for Barcelona even.

While at the bookstore the other day, I noticed a new series of books with black and white photos on various major cities (again, I've seen ones for London and Paris). I forget what this series is called, I'm afraid, but Barnes and Noble in NYC has them. They're also great to look at, but I've resisted buying them.

Here's a 'long shot!' Ronda Iberia is the in-flight magazine published for Grupo Iberia. In July, 1992 they had an issue about 50% dedicated to two stories: the first entitled Barcelona, from 1992 to Infinity and the second A city with an Olympic Calling. I still have my copy of that magazine - it has some very nice photos.

You say you don't need Travel Guides; but I think if you visit your local bookstore and see what Baedeker's Costa Brava and Baedeker's Barcelona have to offer, you might change your mind.

The following are more art and architecture books, but have some wonderful pictures, the first one might be the most appropriate for you. The last three are only available in Spanish to the best of my knowledge.:

I think "Barcelona Art Nouveau" would probably be your best bet.
