I missed the half price sale at Athens Hilton, where now?
I had hoped to get in on their January sale, but they won't allow it to extend to April Weekends.
Any advice on where to stay, we are thinking about 150 e. a night early April.

If I was going to Athens again this year I'd stay at the Athens Gate.

IMHO much better location than the Hilton.

Check the Pan, Arethusa, Amazon, Metropolis, Central, Omiros and Hermes Hotels, all between Syntagma Square and the Plaka District, all within easy walking distance to the Syntagma Metro Station and the Syntagma Airport Express Bus, X95.

My first choice would be Athens Gate with perfect location and breathtaking views of the acropolis. We've also stayed at the Herodion (in Aug 2008). We had a triple room on upper floor with acropolis view and were very happy. However, Herodion gets mixed reviews on Trip Advisor. May relate to room assignment with some roooms nicer than others. Both hotels are in your price range.

I stayed at Art Hotel. It is housed in a neoclassical building aged in 1930 but the rooms are modernly furnished and decorated. This contrast makes the hotel unique. It was really comfortable and the location was very good because it was easily accesd by metro. This is a site where you can see further information on it: http://www.athens-greece.us/art-hotel/# .

Lots of good recommendations. Would add my endorsement of the Athens Gate. Great location (5 min walk to Acropolis; 3 min to Akropoli Metro station), very helpful staff, extensive breakfast buffet (was included in room), and excellent views of Acropolis from roof top bar/restaurant. Only caveat: rooms on street side can be noisy; would opt for back-side rooms which are also slightly cheaper.
