I also couldn't find a proper weiner in Wein and it seems like there weren't many frankfurters to be found in the city of Frankfurt. Also, the best French Fries seem to be found in Holland. Brussel sprouts in Brussels? - forget about it.

Anyone else?

And next you'll tell us you didn't find any pasta in Pasta, Italy, or French Toast in France, right?

I could; however, get a reasonably good hamburger in Hamburg and some very good cologne in Koln.

"Why is your Lake Titicaca not filled with boobs and poop?" --the Janitor, Scrubs.

FWIW, I did see a Rottweiler when we stopped in Rottweil, Germany.

How about the mountain "Titlis" in the alps. It's not far from Lucern.

For some reason, the Japanese like to get married at Titlis. Hmmmmmm.

I've been on a whole airplane of Japanese heading towards this mountain.

I drove through the U.S. 'heartland' and I saw nary a streetwalker in Hooker, Oklahoma. And, nearby, I avoided talking politics in Liberal, Kansas.

OK. We drove through Accident, Maryland, USA and saw nary an amb'lance or po-leese car.

And very disappointed in Detour, Maryland when the main road did not deviate from its normal path even one iota.

Have you ever been to Bad Homburg? They have homburgers there!
And the real frankfurters can only be produced in Frankfurt and around. Really good stuff, not those lousy hotdogs they call franks in the States and around.
One thing you are right in is the fact that in Vienna they call wiener frankfurters. But a wiener sausage stays also high above every hotdog.
Every market in Brussels has Brussel sprouts. And hamburgers are not named after Germanys 2nd biggest town but after a guy with the same name.
The Belgians have the best French fries not the Dutch. And they are called French fries just in the English speaking countries. The rest call them pommes frites, meaning fried potatoes in French.
Any more questions?

I do have a question. In Vienna you can buy a Kasekreiner (sp?), which is a sausage stuffed with cheese.

What does the "kreiner" part of this name. Does this mean a word for a sausage?

Not a smart response what you wrote before~I just want the meaning of Kreiner.

wolfmisc - I spent a half day in Bad Homburg several years ago - so my searching for a hat was not in depth. I've brought home some wonderful frankfurters in a bottle from Frankfurt (please ignore this if you work for U.S. Customs).

I don't agree that the Belgiums are better at pomme frites than the Dutch - but the Belgiums had better sauces.

*This post was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, so please don't be too offended by my oversights.
