Hydrofoil from Positano to Naples
Hello. Does anyone know the approximate time of the earliest morning hydrofoil from Positano to Naples? We will be traveling on a weekday in September. Also how long is the drive from the train station to the ferry port? Thanks for your help.

Going to Naples, Ischia and Sorrento Oct. 1 - 10th. Are the hydrofoils still running at this time of year. I would like to take a hydrofoil from Naples to Ischia and from Ischia to Sorrento and then Sorrento back to Naples. Is this going to be possible? If not, is the ferry ride a lot longer.

topping for more info. We are traveling from Positano to Naples in July and I wondered if anyone knows how often hydrofoils run this route during high season (or do we have to take a more convoluted route)? Thank you for any information you can provide.

Nicole -

Another option for you is to take the SITA bus from Positano to Sorrento, which runs every hour or so. The bus takes about 40 minutes and costs 1,19 Euro. Then you can either take a direct hydrofoil to Naples or you can take the Circumvesuvia train to Naples. The train costs about 2 Euros. I think the hydrofoil from Sorrento to Naples would be about 15 Euros.

There is in fact a direct Positano-Naples hydrofoil service in high season.

Last year it started on 15th June, - so it should start soon for this season, - though the new timetable isn't online yet. The service is normally 4 times a day in each direction.

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Thanks Steve, Dawn and Vincenzo for your responses. Great info. Dawn as I didn't realize they had discontinued that route. I think I will go with Vincenzo's suggestion of the hydrofoil to Capri and then another to Naples. Or, I may just wait and see what my hotel suggests. Thanks again--I leave two weeks from today and am very excited!
