Hyde Park Towers/Airline packages

Has anyone tried using the bundled (air & hotel) packages offered by the airlines? The prices seem very reasonable compared to trying to book separately yourself. One of the most reasonable quotes I got online was for the Hyde Park Towers and flying on USAir. Have heard some bad stories about USAir - never flown them myself though. Any feed back on the hotel and airline would be appreciated.

Sorry, I left out the location on my question. The hotel is in London and the airline quote is to London Gatwick.

U.S.Air is supposed to be rated #1 airlines for passenger satisfaction in USA I don't know about transatlantic flights. The package deals do seem to be a bargain. Why don't you visit us in cheap flight forum at www.eurotrip.com and give us more specifics of the time and departue city of your flight and we can give you more input. Don't forget to enter the contest Virgin Atlantic has right now. Free tickets for two for life!!! <BR>www.virgin-atlantic.com

Marie--I don't know who took that poll that rated USAir as number one in customer satisfaction, but I have not had good experiences with them on domestic flights. Just last week my husband (also with EY) had his flight from DC cancelled. He was told no flights were going out that night due to the weather and they would have to wait until the next day. He got on the phone and got a flight on another airline leaving from an airport 30 minutes away. Once we paid to have them escort our child when she was travelling alone and they just dumped her at the gate (they were supposed to stay with her) and wouldn't stop between gates so she could get something to eat. We had an air/hotel package with American airlines this summer and were generally satisfied with it, though the seating selection was very poor considering how far in advance we booked. Next time I think I will try Delta since I have always been happy with their flights.

It's 6 of one, half-dozen of the other. It is possible to have a bad experience on *any* airline. I've heard nightmares concerning every US carrier. And it's possible to have a good experience too! I just flew US Airways a weekend ago [in the US]. It was FINE. We had a delay from Chicago, but information was forthcoming and the crews both ways were competent and more than civil. I thinkwe each have our "stories" and form a sweeping judgment on that basis. I would have no problem flying US Airways to Europe.
