Hurtigruten southbound voyage - shore excursions
Could someone help with pros and cons of the excursions offerred on the Kirkenes - Bergen voyage. we are doing this in June and I am apprehensive about the quality of the excursions - Breakfast at North Cape, A Taste of Vesteralen, Lofoten Islands, Unesco Islands Vega and The Atlantic Road. I am indeed interested in these areas, especially the Lofoten Islands, mainly because of the expected beautiful scenery, but I'm afraid that I will be missing big chunks of my cruise time and the scenery from the ship.
I would love to hear from someone who could give a balanced view of this.
Thankyou

I haven't taken any of the tours but The Vesteralen tour is always popular, those who have taken it say it is one of the best excursions. As I say I haven't taken it as I enjoy the journey through the islands on the ship. The same with the Lofoten tour. It really is beautiful sailing through the islands.
If it is your only chance at the North Cape you could consider the breakfast trip, but again, having been once to the North Cape I didn't find it that special and haven't bothered with it since. Our table mate last autumn nearly got blown away on the breakfast trip, but despite that she enjoyed it.
The Atlantic road trip does sound interesting and the sailing is less interesting along that stretch.
