We will be going from July 2 to July 16th. My office closes during these dates so it is the only time we can go. I can care less about heat and humidity. Half our trip is beach areas anyway.

July 2nd: Leaving JFK

July 3rd: Arrive in Rome and take the train to Florence. We are staying at Hotel Casci(http://www.hotelcasci.com/)

July 6th: Leave Florence and take train to Naples. There we are getting picked up at the terminal by a private driver(http://www.cuomonet.it/) who will drop us off in Positano.
We are staying at Hotel Vill Franca(http://www.villafrancahotel.it/)
From Positano we are doing one day trip to Pompeii probably via private driver.

July 10th: Hydrofoil to Capri. Staying at the Hotel Punta Tragara(http://www.hoteltragara.com/salsa/en/index.html) in a seaview suite.

July 12th: Hydrofoil back to mainland to Naples. Then train to Rome. In Rome we are staing at Albergo del Senato in a room with a balcony overlooking the Pantheon.

July 16th: Flight out back to JFK (booooo!)

We managed to get roundtrip non-stop flights both ways for $908 each person on American. I made all reservations by myself with direct correspondence with the hotels.

Well it's almost here!. The only thing we tweaked was:

1) rent a car from Rome airport and drive up to Florence.

2) Have Renato Cuomo take us to a famous Naples pizzaria for lunch before we depart for Positano.

3) Day trip to Pompeii during our stay in Positano.

This is my dream trip and you have no idea how excited I am to get underway! Wish me the best of weather and the best exchange rate for my US Dollar!

Oh yeah, we also nailed a Vatican Scavi reservation for July 14th at 1045. Amazingly my sister and husband got the exact same reservation date and time while applying 3 months later than me!
