I'm in the group that thinks attitude IS more important than dress. My husband and I were at Arlington Cemetery last Sept. We went to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in time to see that Changing of the Guard. Most of the people there took off hats and were whispering if they were talking at all. There was a group of tourists from Asia that were dressed appropriately, but, were talking and laughing loudly. They were asked to stop by a security person; they did not. They were then told to leave - which they did in a huff. Those people made a terrible impression on every other person that was there. That incident has made a big impression on me and makes me think about how I am appearing to others when I'm out.
