How to get from Toulouse to Sarlat?
What is the best way to get from Toulouse to Sarlat on a Friday night? The train from Nice gets in about 20.00, and we would prefer to get to our hotel in Sarlat that night, if possible.

I am sorry. The Thomas Cook Europoean Timetable shows that the last train from Toulouse to Souillac leaves at 2143 and reaches Souillac at 2342. The last bus is Souillac 2202 Sarlat 2242. You can leave Toulouse at 2233 and reach Brive at 0055, but then you are stuck until morning.<BR><BR>Can you perhaps enjoy Nice until 2202, take a berth in a 4-berth couchette, change at Montauban 0607 to 0735, change at Souillac 0903 to 0928, and reach Sarlat by bus at 1009.<BR><BR>[email protected]<BR>

That 7 hours (plus) train ride from Nice to Toulous should be contrasted with the 65 minute plane ride on www.airlibexpress.com which costs only 53 euro per passenger one way, arriving at 18:30.<BR><BR>This doesn't actually help, unless you would care, perhaps to rent a car (should be easier to accomplish at 18:30 than at 20:00 - - by the way, I think it might actually be 20:15 for the train).<BR><BR>At best, perhaps you would not be too tired to drive, if you fly.<BR><BR>Best wishes,<BR><BR>Rex<BR>[email protected]<BR>
