Enjoy Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, France, Greece, Turkey, Mexico, Caribbean, & Brazil. My favorite place close to the US is St. John, USVI. This is where I go to the beach. In Europe, my favorites are Germany, Switzerland, Austria, & Italy. I always go back to places I love, and also try to add a new destination. I have visited my favorites several times. Heading out again in 4 weeks!

U.S. Passports Issued per Fiscal Year (1996 - present)
Note: As of 1996, passport statistics are tabulated for the fiscal year.
1996 - 5,547,693
1997 - 6,295,003
1998 - 6,539,864
1999 - 6,722,198
2000 - 7,292,182
2001 - 7,119,506
US dept of state
I believe that there are approx. 280 million Americans and pasports usually expire in 10 years. So the number is pretty small. But it is certainly much bigger then the miniscule number who carry on in this forum. Note that the number issues has grown greatly in past few years.

I am an American. I have traveled to Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Scotland, Austria, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, England (twice)and Italy (twice). I have a trip booked in March to France again. I was married in Italy and no neither I nor my husband is Italian. This started in 1996. I only travel in the off season. Either a trip in October-December or February or March because this is the only time that I can afford it. I have introduced 2 of my friends, my mom and dad, my husband, his dad and his two sisters to Europe. All Americans and all getting thier first passport for a trip to Europe with me. We might not have a lot of Americans with passports but I am doing my part to change that.
