As I continue to plan, little questions pop up that I just have to run by you guys. As I'm plotting out Italy, I'm finding that I'd rather spend more time in Florence with a day trip from there to Pisa, rather than from Rome. That being said, does anyone have any suggestions as to how long to spend in Rome to see the main sights?
Here's what I definitely want to see:
Pantheon
Colosseum, Roman forum, Basilica, Temple of Saturn
Trevi Fountain
Spanish Steps
Vatican
St. Peters
Cappucin crypts (or another crypt if better)
Galleria Borghese
Santa Maria Aracoeli

Is three full days (not counting arrival day or the morning of departure day) enough time to hit all of this. Please feel free to let me know if I should eliminate sights as well as letting me know if I'm missing anything...

Yes, that is doable in three days. Make sure you get a reservation at the Borghese, and plot your days around your appointment. St. Peter's is lovely (and less crowded) very early in the morning. Do get to the Campidoglio, to see the beautiful piazza, the museums, the wonderful view over the Forum to the Col., and a nice roof-top caffe. The view of the Forum is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I hate catacombs, so I have no advise at all on them. Where are you staying?

Depending on your budget I beleive it takes about 4 days to see everything that you put on your list! As a B&B owner, I see many of my guests organize themselves very well in 4 days! You can do a half day on St. Peters and Vatican Museums, 1 day at Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona and Campo dei Fiori and Coloseum, another day on on Catacombs and Terme di Caracala and then the last day on Villa Borghese, St. Giovanni Church, Santa Maria Maggiore Church etc! Than how I usually advice my tourist to do it and they are so happy at the end of the holiday!! Have fun! You would love Rome. Any questions please write me!!

I would suggest about four days. One thing about Rome is that there are quite a lot of things that you kind of "stumble upon" as you are meandering through the city. Having more time would allow for a more leisurely pace and would allow time to duck in interesting churches, stop when you find something of interest, or just sitting in a piazza eating gelato. Rome is a great city but its hard to really appreciate when one is rushing through it.
