I guess it must be about four years or so. I don't recall the exact month, but I think it was sometime in 2000 when I clicked on fodors.com and got involved in the Europe forum. But who's counting?

A month or so before my first visit to Rome in March 2001. I'd been on Frommer's for a while and, while asking for assistance with that trip, someone suggested Fodors since they said it has a lot more activity, which is true.

And I have someone here to thank for suggesting the Pensione Panda (near the Spanish Steps) where we stayed for the first four nights on that visit.

Been lurking since 1999 - first post sometime in 2000. Have learned so much from everyone. It is a pleasure being part of this group.

less than a year but seems like a life time. Does it mean I am addicted, no way, with all my kids.

Sometime in 2000 or maybe early 1999. Lurked for a LONG while before posting. Love this forum.

My first post was Sep 5, 1999; my second post was Nov 4. I have no recollection of how/why that initial gap occurred.

Best wishes,

Rex

I knew I was addicted when I found myself wondering how best to describe something in a Fodors report, while on a trip with my husband.

I'm guessing it was 2000/2001. I had been posting on concierge.com, but had unfavorable results. Somehow, I migrated over to Fodors. The main reason I keep checking this board is my utmost respect for bobthenavigator. He is a class act.

i am kane, I second your commendation of Bobthenavigator! I first came here in advance of my first trip to Italy. To say that Bob is a wealth of information is an understatement.

We appreciate you, Bob!

Early 1999.. when everybody was worried about Y2K and travel.

I began posting late 2000.

My Best,

If memory serves 1998, perhaps 1997. Got great information to plan two Paris trips, but didn't post a question until this year for my London excursion. I've not been a voyeur, I have posted replies to on going threads prior to this year.

I came in the age of Beth Anderson, Kavey, Elvira, Leslie Strauss (remember when Leslie gave out EVERYONE'S email address?), Art Hussey, Mr. Best Wishes, Sjoerd, Surlock, Capo, Wes Fowler, Mary Connelly, and Sally. And then there was Leone.....

We have lost a few along the way, but have gained some great posters in St. Cirq, Mimi, Scarlett, Sheila Ritchie, Marilyn, mr. wunrful, and kismetchimera. And then there is NYCFoodsnob.....

No matter how hard I try, I can't leave this forum. Believe me, I have talked to a therapist about my addiction. Why are we all so drawn to each other?????????????????????? Maybe we were all neighbours in Atlantis???????

Or was it Mu?

Which do you think is better for a honeymoon, Atlantis or Mu? Which is more expensive? I have heard that they are more friendly to Americans on Mu, but that the food is better on Atlantis.

Marilyn, I think it was a Mu Mu here and a Mu Mu there.

ThinGorjus, now you've gone and put a musical worm in my head, Donovan's "Atlantis"...

I found this website purely my accident. I was looking for a place to post a warning to unsuspecting travelers about Kensington Park Apts. in London and found this great site. I have been visiting almost daily since July or August of 2003. It is almost my first Fodorite anniversary!

Istarted early in 2002 before a trip to Spain and France and met up with some terrific Fodorites in Paris arranged by Susan Wright...Joy Klein was there, also Mark (who I believe was doing a shuttle service from CDG airport). Wonder if they're still around...I know I am!

I used to post with my real name (Paula) before registration, but someone was so rude to me on one post, that I took it personally (they're probably gone since registration).

It's strange how I feel as if I really "know" some of the people here...and now I'm worried about Maribel because she hasn't posted in awhile. (Hope she's just travelling and having a great time.)

This seems to be the only "circle" where I can indulge in my love of travel with like-minded souls.

Thank you all for being here!

ThinGorjus, I am not familiar many of the names you mention. When exactly was the age in which you came to Fodor's?
