How does one find the Nottingham Forest?

We'll be driving from Warwick to York, and have been told that our boys might enjoy stopping by the Nottingham Forest (Robin Hood and all that). Where is it, exactly? Is it worth a stop on the way?

Nottingham Forest is a football (i.e., soccer) clb in the city of Nottingham. Robin lived in Sherwood Forest.

http://www.somewheretogo.co.uk/cgi-b...ire&Name=sfvis

Sherwood Forest lies north of Nottingham, east of Mansfield, and well south of Worksop. The A60 is to the west, and the A614 to the east. It has a web site at www.sherwood-forest.org.uk/.

Welcome to England

Ben Haines, London
Duh, that's what I meant to say, the Sherwood Forest! No wonder I couldn't find it! Thank you, Ben!

Nottingham Forest is a nice subdivision in Overland Park, Kansas. Its pretty, but not worth a stop cause there are sooo many just like it all over the USA. Sorry, I couldn't help myself!

In answer to your question Cindy is Sherwood Forest worth a stop, I'd say no. We went and were disappointed. I don't know how kids would feel about it - at the entrance there was a bit of kid stuff but the rest of it was mostly relaimed oaks and except for one that was quite old didn't impress me. If you need a break and want to stretch your legs I guess you can always say you've been there. But I wouldn't go out of your way to get there.

Mavis: Thanks for the advice. I went to the website, and couldn't tell much from that. It sounds like there are probably better ways to spend our time. And Mary: There was also a Nottingham Forest in Johnson City, Tenn., where I lived as a child. I guess they're everywhere!
