How do you post? Refer to reference works or not?

I have a mind like a steel sieve, which explains why I have to refer back to my trip books (I save every fool scrap of paper) for names/locations of hotels and restaurants (descriptions "it's the hotel with the dog in the lobby" doesn't get you from here to there). I will also double-check subway & train times/stops on websites or maps to make sure I'm not having a senior moment.

Wow the information that many of you have collected over the years sounds wonderful. Have any of you considered writing a book of your own about European travel. Rex, it sounds like you could make (if not a book) a really great webpage of the info at least.

I know that on many posts Elaine says that she has trip notes on Paris and other destinations. It sounds like she should consider a webpage instead of troubling herself with e-mailing people her notes each time. Well, she probably doesn't consider it trouble, since she likes helping out fellow travelers, but this may be another route to help share all of the information you have gathered.
Just a thought...

I keep everything, from my bar receipts from Idlewild in 1964 to our cash register receipts from the Hypermarche just out of Carcassonne just last month. I have 3 drawers of a 4 drawer file cabinet full, the bottom drawer reserved for IRS receipts.
