Hi lesm,
I'm glad that you liked my site. A couple more thoughts:
1. Jeans tucked into boots have been popular in Paris for the last two winters. I'm hoping its still the "look" (its finally hit my hometown) because that's what I'm planning to wear in Paris this October. I'll post back and let you know what I see.
2. Regarding the heavy coat - unlike when I visit NYC in the winter, I spent so much time outdoors in Paris in the winter. I love to sit in outdoor cafes and people watch, have a drink and eat a snack. If I'm under a heater outside, I can take off my coat. However, if I'm not next to the heat, I sometimes sit and have a glass of wine with my wool coat on. I've travelled with friends who brought more lightweight jackets and we ended up sitting inside - which is not as scenic/fun as the atmosphere outside with most of the locals.
3. Tara is right on. Makup is minimal and hairstyles aren't as structured as in the US.
Have a great trip - C
