Hotwire and Priceline are a great way to save money on hotels in large European cities such as London, Paris, Munich or near large airports. But they aren't much use in the smaller towns and villages.

If you do a search in the Europe forums for Priceline, I'm sure you will find lots of useful information.

CHRISTA7, within the Europe Forum, I typed Priceline Hotels in the Search box and came up with at least a few hundred posts on the subject.

I've used Priceline twice in Frankfurt. Both times I got Movenpick Hotel. I bid for a 4* in the west. It is a very nice new hotel. But the breakfast is 19€. I skipped it.

I know that this is an ancient post........but I just wanted to let you know that I stayed in an ENORMOUS room recently in the Bristol in Vienna for 110 dollars thanks to bidding on Priceline.

We'll be staying in Vienna at the Marriott this month......$105 a night. An even better deal, we'll be staying in the Budapest Marriott where every room has a view of the Danube for $65 a night. And, lastly, we're staying at the Moevenpick in Prague for $55 a night. All through Priceline...we're big fans. Anyone interested in bidding on Priceline can go on www.biddingfortravel.com to find out how to use it and what recent winning bids have been.
