Hotel's rack rates ?

I saw in the website of Hotel Massena, in Nice, the expression "hotel's rack rates". Can anyone explain it to me? Thanks, Ismael

Think of it as full retail. Its the hotel's standard price. No discounts, no packages, no corporate rate. Just straight off the rack, if you will.

And you can usually do a better deal than that by haggling.

There was just another long thread on this a week or so ago--"rack" refers to the rates stated in the brochure, which is often displayed on a rack.
