Hotels or B&B in Milan

I'm looking for a nice hotel or B&B close to Shopping in Milan. We have a family of four with small children.

A friend of one of my colleagues in Milan has just opened a B & B in Milan. I will be staying there later this month...it's brand new, no write ups in tour guides or web sites yet. Supposed to be in a very nice neighborhood. I'll be a guinea pig, one of her first customers, and will let you know what it's like when I get back (at the end of May).

Where is it? I wouldn't mind going by and checking it out too.

We have had great luck with the Grand Hotel Barone Di Sassj. It's a fairly new 4-star just on the outskirts of Milan. It's a 2-block walk to the subway line, and then about a 10 minute ride into town (Duomo, shopping, Castello, etc).

Good luck!

Great! That would be really nice if you would let me know on that B & B. I'm looking to spend about $100-150 per night.
Has anyone been to the Lloyd Hotel in Milan? What did you think?

The Lloyd Hotel is very nice, a bit old fashion, but have big rooms. It's a bit of a walk to the Duomo (about10 min), but it's an easy tram ride away. My parents stayed there a couple of years ago and liked it very much.

As it turns out, the B&B will be closed for the holiday on the day that I needed it, so I'm staying at a hotel instead. The B&B doesn't have a web site yet, but it does have an email address and they will send you a PDF brochure with photos and prices, etc. It's a fairly inexpensive place located over near the university (as I recall).
Their email address is:
[email protected]
The owner's name is Mrs. Garbi.
