Hotels Just Outside Florence

Driving from Venice to Florence late November. In the past we have always stayed right in Florence, but thinking of perhaps staying outside in country hotel that is close. Any good suggestions will be appreciated. Would like to be fairly close so easy to drive in for a day or maybe use public transport. You suggest and I will read. Thanks - oh and we are happy campers in 2-3 star places does not need to be a 5 star wallet buster!

We usually stay at an agriturismo in Greve and take a bus into Florence from there. We've also driven closer to Florence and caught a bus.
I'm not familiar with hotels.

Reisender,

I don't have any specific recommendations either but I can suggest you take a look at www.venere.com - here's the link to their hotels surrounding florence.

Perhaps you can review venere and double check against any reviews that may be available via TripAdvisor or other sites?

We stayed at a great place right outside of florence. I found it in the karen brown guides. I think her webiste is Karenbrown.com The name of the place is Marignolle Relais & Charme. It is small but very nice. It has its own pool and the grounds are gorgeous. There is a great restaurant within walking distance called BICE. We loved it. Once in a while I see it listed as a special in luxurylink.com so it can be had for a bargain.

Hope that is helpful,
itsv

We loved a place called I Parigi B&B just south of Florence. You can read about it in my postings or on Trip Advisor. Good luck and have a great trip!
