Hotels in Rome, Venice, Florence
My husband & I (early 60's) have reservations at the following hotels in April -
Caesar House Residenze Romane in Rome; Foscari Palace in Venice & the David in Florence. Is anyone familiar with any of these? Trip advisor reviews are good but we're wondering about location and walking distances to major attractions. Thanks!

I believe the David in Florence is not at all close to city center.
I can very highly suggest Hotel Casci. You should read the reviews on trip advisor. I have been there FOUR times and love it better each time. It is right smack in the city center, but quiet because it is on the third floor of a large building.
The family who run the small 25-room hotel are fantastic. Nothing is too much for them, everything is done with a smile and a feeling of love, price is very reasonable, rooms are immaculate, breakfast is very comprehensive.

While we didn't stay there (we prefer the Termini area for proximity to Opera and train station, but others feel very differently), I did notice this hotel last time we were in town. It is near "ancient Rome" not as popular an area for hotels as some. But we thought it looked very pleasant and noticed the folks using their shuttle, a very nice idea and rare for a Rome hotel in that price-bracket.

We stayed at hotel accademia in florence - excellent location, reasonable rates and very good staff. would go back in a heartbeat! if you email or call them directly, you might be able to negotiate a good rate. I think we were around 150e/night for a double with breakfast.
