Hotels in Florence and Rome

My husband and I are travelling to Italy for the first time this July.

We are looking for moderate priced hotels in Florence and Rome that are centrally located.

The ones suggested to us are sold out for the nights we wanted.

It will be best, I think, to tell us your exact price range, and to tell us the names of the sold out hotels, so that we don't repeat them to you.

Try the Apollo in Rome
and the Hotel Bigallo in Florence
We stayed at both in September and loved them. Well located, clean, helpful staff.

Very well located hotels in Rome in your price range

The Portoghese

The due Torri

They are all in a fairly close price range, near one another, and the order I wrote them in is the descending order of my preference, based on what you get for the money.

The above mentioned Hotel Apollo is not in the heart of the centro storico, where I much prefer to be. However, if your main interests are the sites of ancient Rome, it might be a choice for you. However, night time fun, dining and shopping are all much better nearer to the hotels I've listed.

Hotel Bigallo is right next to the Duomo in Florence. It's a very cute, nice hotel.
For Rome, I recommend Hotel Villa San Pio, which is a nice hotel in a quiet part of Rome.

try also and, it's easier to see where the hotels are located, and you can also make a quick sear for hotels available...
