Hotels in Rome

Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice hotel in Rome to finish off our 3 wk. Italy trip?? We thought we would stay somewhere a little more special for the last 3 nights...budgeting around 300 euros/night.

We liked Albergo del Senato, adjacent to the Pantheon, with a lovely terrace and rooms with a view. They can get book a car to the airport for you (if you are flying out), but then we haven't stayed at the high end places (Hassler, etc.).

My last trip I stayed in Trastevere at a small edgy b&b but del Senato sounds like more what you're looking for.

Pam50 - We always stay at Ponte Sisto hotel next to Testevere area. We have recommended the hotel to several friends and everyone loves it. Good service, fabulous rooms ( ask for a balcony room ) great breakfast in beautiful courtyard - Very friendly area, walk over the bridge (no cars ) entering Santa Maria square - at night it is magical - lots of wonderful restaurants and it comes alive with local energy. Safe and very fun. I also would recommend a tour of the Jewish Ghetto if you have time....walk to it from the hotel and get a personal tour - very interesting.
Ciao

Pat- Thank you for the info on the Ponte Sisto. We are staying there for the first 4 nights of our trip. Nice to know that it will be good. It is not available for our last few nights.

My vote is for Albergo del Senato. We have stayed a more expensive hotels but really love the staff and the atmosphere. Some rooms are small but they have Good breakfasts and lovely bathrooms. But use the ROME Shuttle for $35 for a ride to the airport. They are always on time and it usually is a Mercedes.

We've stayed at Albergo del Senato numerous times - I love it - the location, service, views. Be sure to reserve a superior double with view of the Pantheon. Even better is the 6th floor suite - pricey but truly special.

The rack rate for a queen bed room at the Grand Flora is 379 euros but you could probably get them to give you a better rate by calling or emailing. Or try Priceline.

I just choked... I'm staying there on points with a free upgrade to a Junior Suite for 5 nights... $857USD/night!!! Thank god for points! But, it is a beautiful hotel!
