Hotels in Berlin and Krakow?
We'll be in Berlin and Krakow in Sept. and are looking for doubles with private bath for under 100 euros in the central city. It would be great to have a terrace or balcony. I hope this isn't impossible! We'll be grateful for all suggestions. Thank you.

In Berlin, lodging under E100 shouldn't be too hard to find, depending on your personal standards for a place to stay.
My impression after a couple visits there is that Berlin really isn't a major balcony-and-terrace kind of city, though, unless one goes for some of the newer, high-end places.
Only thing I can recommend is that you go the the Berlin website (www.berlin.de), click on "tourismus', then on 'unterkunft' (food and lodging) and start browsing. (You can switch the website over to English language, if you need to -- click on the little British flag).
Many of the hotels/BnB/Pension listings there also have photos to help you find places with balconies.
Never been to Krakow, so can't help you there.

Judybr,
We visited both of these wonderful cities two years ago. We stayed at the Andechsers Hof in Berlin and were very pleased with it. The location was good and the room was unusually spacious - also had a refrigerator.
In Krakow, we stayed at Wielepole Guestrooms. The room was very nice, but no air conditioning (which may be okay for you in September)and had lots of street noise with the windows open. If I stayed there again, I would ask for a quiet room in the back (ours was facing the street). Breakfast here was exceptional -- a huge buffet served in the pretty cellar.
Have a great time!

Well, Miss Thing, about Berlin--do you want to stay in East Berlin or West Berlin? That is the question, sugar muffin.
I prefer East Berlin, so I can sashay my drag-queen self down the Friedrichstrasse in my Blackglama mink (which I stole from Marietta Tree).
The Melia is on the Friedrichstrasse, just opposite the Spree. You may be able to get a room for less than 100e a night in September. The hotel is tranny heaven in my opinion because you can get so much drama threatening the police that you are going to throw yourself in the Spree when you can't pay your bar bill (run up from drinking bottle after bottle of Veuve Cliquot).
Let me know if I can be of more assistance for vous.
