Hotels in Barcelona

I've read Mirabel's materials, which were extremely helpful, but can't decide between Condes de Barcelona, Majestic and AC Diplomat. I'll be there in August. Any advice?

I'm due to stay at The Ritz, I'll keep you informed - I'm there in July so maybe enough time for you.

I walked into the Ritz when in Barcelona. It is lovely, however, I really liked the location of The Majestic much better. Chanel, Armani, Loewe, etc. All the big name designer stores are surrounding the hotel. Many chic people strolling on the Passeig De Gracia(sp?) where the hotel is located. A beautiful street with fabulous buildings and wonderful famous architecture. The Ritz may have more upscale spa services and a little more "glam" then the Majestic. But, the Majestic was very elegant as well.

I considered the Ritz, but after reading the comments on the Rants and Raves section, and on tripadvisor.com. I dedided not to to spent the extra money. On one of the chat lists, someone staying at the Ritz said he liked tha Majestic better.

I think you should be very happy at the Majestic. The staff was really great, and I just loved the location in the Eixample. I would recommend requesting a room facing the Passeig de Gracia with the Balcony, if available. The Gaudi Buildings are all lite up at night and it is very cool.
