Hotel Verneuil for first trip to Paris...Any advice?
Anyone have any recommendations for restaurants, cafes, boutiques, shops in the near-by neighborhood we shouldn't miss?
Anything you can tell me about the area would be a great help!

That's a map of the location...lovely being right near the river! The closest Metro is about 5 blocks away. My bus guide shows a stop on the Quai at the Pont du Carrousel with some good lines [#69 particularly, one of the most senic and useful routes]. The next bridge up, then Pont des Arts, is one of the nicest ones to walk across. Great views from there.
Up on Blvd St Germaine, have a hot chocolate at the Cafe de Flore which some say is the best in Paris.

The Verneuil is in an excellent location for both right and left bank. The hotel has a great following.
You have all of the shopping and restaurants of the 6th and 7th nearby.
Walk across the bridge to the Louvre caarousel and you have the right bank attractions.
Enjoy........
