Hotel Teatropace, Rome

Has anyone stayed at or seen this new hotel just opened May 2004.There is no lift and a very large winding staircase. The website looks great, it is a 3* located on Via Del Teatro Pace 33 near Piazza Navona. Would love to get some feedback, seriously thinking of staying there. Also, would that be a noisy spot at night? Thanks Again, Diane

You've probably seen the web site, but here it is:
http://www.hotelteatropace.com

It's actually Hotel Teatro Pace, if that helps find anything.

Here's an article in Italian:

We did check in there in August and carried our bags up the 4 flights of stairs. The place is new and very clean, unfortunately the a/c and safe were not working in our rooms so we decided to check out. It is in a great spot right behind the Piazza Navona, everything is brand new and quite nice. The shower is very small, but for the price the location is great and if they get the a/c working it would be a great inexpensive place to stay. I would also suggest asking for a room on a lower floor. The Jr. Suite is on the 4th floor and quite a hike with or without bags. Good Luck

Thanks for the additional information. Since I used to live on the seventh floor, without elevator, I don't mind the fourth floor.

We will find out in January. Booked rooms for 1/6/2005 thru 1/13/2005. We normally stay at another hotel (Portoghesi and love it) but wanted to try this. A/C won't be issue in January.

I know that area very well, the noise issue should not be problem since it is a block or so off Piazza Navona. The only place to stay in Rome is around the Piazza Navona(not trying to flame anyone of differing opinion) it is central to everything. Will report back on Teatro Pace

We just returned from Italy last week. We had three rooms at Teatropace and loved it. We were on the first floor above the reception. The walls are two feet thick and there was no noise from the street. In all three rooms the air conditioning and wall safes worked fine. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Remember to tell them what time you want your breakfast served in your room and it will be there. The location is the best in Rome. Near everything. Restaurants, a pharmacy, a small grocery store and ice cream shops are steps from the front door. Piazza Navonna a three minute walk. All six of us give them the highest rating and plan on returning.

Topping

I'm thinking about staying here at Hotel Teatropace sounds and looks good, and I know this area. Or maybe Hotel San Carlo any input?http://www.hotelsancarloroma.com/index.htm-

Decided I want to go back in Feb. for 8 nights alone this time. Tetroplace has breakfast looks like 120 for a double room and San Carlo is 95, anyone know about the breakfast at San Carlo? Usually I stay at an apartment but this time since it's just me I?ll have to cut costs and I do like my food.

I don't know why I'm having such a difficult time deciding - suggestions are welcome. I've looked on Venere already with no luck.

Thanks, Eileen
